What is the United Lutheran Appeal? The
United Lutheran Appeal is a joint effort of the Metropolitan
Washington D.C. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church of America and thirteen educational, outdoor, and social ministries,
agencies and institutions. Those agencies and institutions involved with the appeal
are Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp & Retreat Center, Community Family Life
Services, Fellowship Square Foundation, Good Shepherd Housing Foundation; Lutheran
Social Services of the National Capital Area; Lutheran Theological Seminary at
Gettysburg; Lutheran Volunteer Corps; Mar-Lu-Ridge Lutheran Camp; N Street Village;
National Lutheran Home; Roanoke College; Southeast Ministry; and Transitional
Housing Corporation. (Learn more about these agencies and institutions on the
Organizations page.) Why
have a United Lutheran Appeal? This
is an annual appeal to increase awareness of the 13 agencies and institutions
as well as raise funds so that the member organizations may continue their work. How
will the gift made to the Appeal be distributed? Gifts
given generally to the Appeal will be distributed on an equal basis to all 13
participating institutions and agencies. You may, however, designate your contribution
to particular organizations. |
